Our Story

The Origin

I grew up in a small mountain village — tall trees, quiet ponds, birds singing, winding paths.

Then I left for the city. College. Career. The noise never stopped. Subway rumbles. Late nights. Endless notifications.

But I always carried those quiet moments with me.

One afternoon, in a park downtown, I saw a Bodhi tree.

I sat beneath it for hours. Watching sunlight dance through leaves. Listening to the wind. And then it hit me —

"To see a world in a grain of sand, a heaven in a wild flower."

In that moment, I found my way back. And Lumala was born.

Lumala — born from "Luminous" (light) and "Mala" (prayer beads). A promise to create a quiet space in your busy life.

The Person Behind the Brand

Here is something most brands will not tell you: Lumala is run by one person.

That means when you send a message, I am the one who replies. When you place an order, I am the one who packs it. When you see a product photo on this site, I am the one who took it.

I wear these bracelets. Every single day. Not because I have to — because I want to. The sandalwood on my wrist right now? It is the same one I offer to you. The agarwood I wrote about on this site? I spent weeks learning the difference between real and fake before I ever listed it.

Why does this matter?

Because when you buy from a faceless brand, you are taking a leap of faith. When you buy from a person who actually uses what they sell, that leap gets a lot shorter.

I built Lumala around one belief: the things we carry should carry meaning too. Not more clutter. Not another accessory to match an outfit. But something real — something that reminds you to breathe, to pause, to come back to yourself.

I may be small. But every bracelet that leaves my hands has been touched, checked, and packed by someone who cares whether it arrives perfect.

Our Promise

Every piece is hand-checked. Cracked beads? Uneven color? Dull finish? It does not ship. I personally inspect every bracelet before it goes into the box. If I would not wear it, I will not send it to you.

Real materials only. Every wood we use can be traced to its source. No "inspired by." No lookalikes. When we say sandalwood, it is sandalwood. When we say agarwood, it is agarwood. Natural variations in grain and tone are not flaws — they are proof that what you are holding came from a real tree.

The unboxing matters. Every order ships in our signature birch bark gift box with a lotus cotton pouch, cleaning cloth, and Blessing Card. This is not just packaging — it is the first physical touchpoint between us. I want opening a Lumala package to feel like receiving a gift from a friend, not a transaction.

Your satisfaction, guaranteed. If something is not right, reach out. I would rather fix a problem than lose your trust. Every Lumala bracelet comes with our satisfaction promise — because buying something meaningful should not feel like a risk.

A Note From Me

I am not a big company. I am one person who believes that what we put on our wrists can change how we move through the day.

I do not have a customer service team. I do not have a warehouse. What I have is attention. Every message gets a real reply. Every package gets packed like it is going to someone I know.

If you have questions — about woods, about sizing, about which bracelet might be right for you or for someone you care about — just reach out. I actually answer.

Thank you for being here.
